"In my 7 years exploration of architecture, I find myself fascinated in the materiality of architecture, the composition of volumes, the atmosphere of material and the expression of details. Doing architecture is like materializing human imagination, it is exciting to picture my architecture fantasy, but it is much more exciting to build up the dream on the ground. After all, my ideal architect is more a doer than a thinker, more a craftsman than a painter. "

Zhencheng Sam Cui is currently a Master of Architecture student in University of Michigan and will be graduating in May 2016. He Holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

Previously he worked at VolumeOne Design Studio in the summer 2015 and OLI Architecture in the spring 2014.
